A few shades of blue

I don't think I have a favorite color but I found plenty of blue pieces in my closet, so I start thinking that maybe it is one of my favorites. However, pink is always the dear in my heart ;)

Its getting very cold in New York and I cannot believe that 2014 is right around the corner! Although I hate the cold weather, I love the fact that it gives me the chance to pull out all my sweaters from my drawers. Try not to hang your sweaters and fold them instead because hanging sweaters could change their shapes or stretch the fabric.

Here I was wearing my blue and white sweater from Zara and my favorite leggings! Look at the beautiful embroidery, how delicate! My dear boyfriend picked this pair of booties for me a while ago and I finally got to wear them, sometimes he does have a stylist taste ;)

Use hoodie to look girly

As I said a long time ago, I am never a hoodie girl. It is understandable that hoodies are comfy but they don't suit my occasions. The only places that you would see me wearing Abercrombie or Hollister hoodie would be in my home, the gym and the grocery store (when I am pushing it). However, some hoodies are exceptional because of the design, the fabric and how they are tailored.

I was wearing this velvet cropped hoodie with lace on the edge, which makes me feel girly and elongates the second half of my body. The fabric of the hoodie always makes a difference, because the velvety texture makes the look more polished and creates a softer tone for the outfit. Unlike wearing simply 100% cotton hoodie that looks worn out after being washed several times. For girls who are petite, cropped top can always create an illusion that your legs are much longer than they actually are.

A Girly Lady in Pink

Its very interesting that what you wear changes how you feel about yourself for the day. When I wear dark lipstick and leather pants, I feel vamp and tough. Fit and flare dresses make me want to have afternoon tea with my besties.

Black and White could be fun

I know that black and white could be boring sometimes but if you can play with this color combination with different textures of fabrics, you could actually have more fun with just black and white. Therefore I picked this leather cutout top from Lulus and my suede booties so that there is something more than just black and white. Again, because I am obsessed with dark lipstick colors lately, I was wearing "Media" from M.A.C.

We always hear people saying "New shoes always hurt", but this cliche fails to apply on these pair of new Jeffrey Campbell booties. They are so comfy and I was walking in them all day without complaint.

Black and White

Surprisingly, New York is not too cold yet although half of October is gone. Thank god that the weather is still warm enough during the day. In fall and winter, I usually prefer ox blood color lipstick or fierce look. Many people think that I am a girly girl because of all the colorful dresses and skirts that I wear, but sometimes I do enjoy wearing t-shirt and denim shorts.

Here I have my recent favorite "No guts no glory" t-shirt and stripe denim shorts. Since this look is rather casual, I dressed it up a little bit by wearing my python pattern heels. In order to create a tough girl image :P , I always picked up the "Fearless" and spiky bracelets.

Just because you have a certain style doesn't mean that you cannot pull out another style. I think that it is more important to keep trying because it will give you more inspiration to enhance your own style. Some people think that fashion is just about materialism but it is actually a form of art if you can bring it up to another level.

Flower Power

Besides floral patterns, I also love floral embellishment on my outfit. This top is so adorable because of its big flower and it shows my collarbone. In order to match with the top, I picked a pair of white flowers earrings. I usually avoid wearing booties when I wear a dress or a skirt because it visually cuts off the length of my legs. But when I wear jeans or pants, I definitely wear booties because they elongate my legs instead.

Hello High Low Dress

I was never a fan of high low dress because I feel like it is designed for people who have long and nice legs. However, I found this dress in Urban Outfitters and fell in love with the colors. Lilac and blue-ish purple with ruffle, so dreamy and flattering. If you read my previous post (click here), you would have seen me wearing a cross-body bag and here I used it as a clutch instead.

If you have a small cross-body bag, try to use it as a clutch! I have a budget for myself, so I try to utilize what I have and make the most out of it instead of splashing money on whatever I desire.

Easy, Simple, Casual

Although I love going out, eating out and making plans for weekends, I also enjoy chilling in a cafe and reading. However, just because you are not walking in the city all day, doesn't mean that you should look like you just rolled out of bed. I love white tees, but I also love it when a tee has a nice print or embellishment on it.

I know that I should have posted this a while ago but lately things were keeping me occupied and I was trying to keep you guys updated about fashion week.

Last month I went to see a jazz band, Open Ended, CD release party with my date at the Kitano Hotel. It was such a good night and the band played very well. In case you are interested in Jazz, click here to check out their website!

Circle Dress with Plain Tee

High-waist circle skirts are one of my favorite apparel items because they make me look taller and cover my not-so-thin thighs ;) Again, like I always do, I try to contain my outfit within three colors.
For a skirt that has a pattern and multiple colors, I prefer keeping the top simple and neat so that I don't look like a mess.

For girls who are petite, really try to stay chic and simple. Also, try to avoid big, crazy patterns and especially big hats, big bags because they will make you look extra tiny. I always make sure my purse is small but big enough to carry all my makeup products, money and phone.

NYFW Part 2

I personally love Fashion Week in Sept a lot more because the weather is just perfect for everyone to wear anything. In Feb, New York is too cold, 2013 Feb was freezing and there was crazy snow during fashion week. Everyone had to bundle up and it was just not so pleasant.

Here are some of the outfits that I saw around Lincoln Center! There were so many stylish and chic outfits, I was very amazed by how creative people were in styling! Love all the neon colors because they instantly brighten the entire outfit.

Vintage Red Lips

I am not only a believer of clothes but also makeup. The right outfit has to go with the right makeup in order to complete the whole creation! The floral dress looks a bit vintage to me especially the colors and the pattern. It is sexy but the bow in between makes it look cute and tone it down a little. Since I wanted to make the look more vintage, I was wearing the matte red lipstick from M.A.C. and the red is just the way I like it.
Summer is coming to an end soon but I am glad that the fall is around the corner, and New York Fashion Week is gonna take place in about 10 days!

Hester Street Fair

If you are in New York and want to visit some local stores, go to Hester Street Fair on Saturday!
I went there two weekends ago and it was lovely! There are different kinds of booths, such as food, baked goods and even clothes! The street fair is not huge but it is enough for you to spend a couple good hours on browsing and wandering. Another nice thing is that there are tables and seats for you chill.

Casual Peplum

Peplum doesn't only help you to dress up but it can also help you to dress down when you just want a comfy, casual day. Summer time, barbecue time, I love barbecue food and this peplum top is just perfect to cover my little belly after I ate all the grilled chicken, pork and hotdogs.
I was going over my wardrobe the other day and found that pink and blue are probably my favorite colors because if I close my eyes and pick any item, over 50% probability will be either pink or blue.
What about you guys?

I normally don't wear Abercrombie or Hollister, but this peplum is just the perfect fit for me and I love the sailor stripes. Again, I tried to stay within three colors so that the entire outfit would not have looked too busy.

Thank you so much for reading everyone and I hope we all gonna have a wonderful week!

Bodysuit and high-waist short

Back to New York and I went for quick shopping the other day in the mall. New York has been humid, hot and sometimes muddy lately, so I think going to the mall is better than being trapped in the house. When I was in Cali, my outfits were always so bright and so colorful because of the weather. Maybe it had something to do with my vacation mood too, but anyway, my outfits are slightly different when I am in New York.

I got this bodysuit from Forever 21 last year if my memory serves me right. Bodysuit is fantastic when you wanna tuck your top in because it keeps your top nicely tucked in the shorts or skirt. Since I am short, I always find ways to make myself look taller than I am, I was wearing this bodysuit with my high-waist shorts, and heels of course :)

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! <3

Palm Trees and Brunch

Brunch is my favorite meal when I was staying in San Diego, and I found that there are actually so many awesome places for brunch. I don't know if it is a San Diego thing or not, but I feel like pancakes are very popular for breakfast and brunch time. Although I am not a big fan of pancake, I gotta say that the pancakes from Snooze are beyond amazing. Click Here and you will see the awesomeness ;)

Another place is Cafe 21 in downtown San Diego and their breakfast food is really the champion. I can still remember the salmon omelette and I thought I was in heaven when it was in my mouth! Of course, the spinach crepes were delicious as well!

Since I had to do a lot of walking that day so I wore my flats, well the heels were only a inch so I think that they are still flats :P San Diego is so beautiful, especially the weather. I love palm trees although they can be very useless when it comes to providing shades.

The entire trip would have been meaningless without my boyfriend and I am so thankful for having him during the entire time. He is so amazing and I can never thank him enough for what he has done for me. <3

Thank you so much for reading the entire San Diego journey with me and we will go back to New York in the next post!

Dinner Date Outfit...

Here I was in Marriot Marqius and Marina in San Diego, which is a very nice restaurant.
Usually when I travel, I always bring a maxi dress with me because you can either make it fancy or dress it down by trying different shoes and accessories. This dress is perfect for the beach if you wear it during daytime, and for a dinner date, wear it with heels and some jewels like I did here....

Sometimes, since I just went to the beach before that, I added the eyeliner and some bracelets to make the look more polished. I have had this dress for three years but it still looks very new, because when I wash it by hands and I never put it in the dryer ;) This dress is from Forever 21 and it was from the special collection, so the quality is much better than the usual ones.

Next post will be the wrap for the trip series and we will be back to New York, stay tuned and thank you for reading!

La Jolla Beach

Since there will be many photos in this post, I am not gonna say much because I think the photos will tell you all :) I was at La Jolla Beach in San Diego, and of course it was beautiful as always. My outfit was perfect for that weather because its airy and colorful! Though the color combination might remind you of spring more than summer but I love it when mint green and pink are together!

This is my favorite beach, can you tell which is sky and which is ocean? ;)

Is that a squirrel? I saw many of them just hanging out on the side walk!

I am pretty sure that this is one of my favorite outfits for summer 8-)
Of course, my hat is a must!

Here is me and my wonderful photographer (aka my one and only)

Then I finally gotta try the desserts from this place! You can also find me on Instagram: Click here

And Yes! This was the full outfit of the day :)

Thank you so much for reading guys, I have been so busy and didn't get to update my blog. But I promise that more posts will be coming up soon! Muah!
